Battle of the Main Street Mexican Restaurants!
Written and Photographed by Nancy Clover

How do 3 Mexican restaurants within 2 blocks of each other survive?
From the continuous customer traffic for dine in and take out, the answer is Melrosians love Mexican Food.
Please note I have previously reviewed La Qchara and love them.
Here are my opinions on these eating establishments on Main St in geographical order:
Tenoch Mexican: Opened in 2021, it is the smaller of the 3 restaurants, industrial décor with metal tables and chairs, big windows with lots of natural light, view of Main Street.
No alcohol, friendly staff, reasonably priced, fast service, and clean.
The menu is not extensive but has all the essentials. Big plus – they serve breakfast from 9-11 am – their breakfast burrito is excellent. Chicken tacos are the best I have had – tender with delicious flavor. I did not have the pressed sandwiches made with telera bread but will next trip, they looked incredible.
Order at the counter, customize your meal, and food is brought to your table.
Great place if you are looking for a quick bite. Kid friendly.

Mexico Lindo: Classic decorated Mexican restaurant with a bar.
As soon as you sit down, house made chips and salsa magically appear. Extensive menu including platters, large portions, lunch specials, and amazing staff. Outstanding Sangria. Fajitas are terrific, Al Pastor tacos with pineapple salsa are excellent.
Great patio as the weather improves. I have not been but on Wednesday Night they have a Mariachi Band.
We have had take out and the meals transport well but dining in makes you feel like you are in an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Santa Fe Burrito Grill and Bar: large restaurant with a lively bar.
Order your food cafeteria style – pick your meal, then move down the line to customize your ingredients.
Burritos are huge and delicious, taco salad was fresh and I was able to add the toppings I wanted. Sangria is strong with fresh fruit and yummy. I did not have the Diablo margarita, but I was told they were spicy and amazing.
Fast and efficient, fresh ingredients, comfortable seating and nicely decorated. $5 burritos on Mondays.
They have an ice cream shop attached, that is another plus.
They often do community fundraisers - I love places that support the community!
