Eileen Hamblin: A Strong Advocate for the Melrose Community

Originally from Vermont, Eileen Hamblin moved to Melrose in 1976. In the 1980s, while searching for a part-time job, she explored real estate — a career that quickly became anything but part-time!
Eileen is a licensed realtor with Leading Edge Real Estate, where she assists clients in buying, selling, and renting properties. With a deep understanding of the market and a commitment to guiding her clients through every step of the process. She has a passion for helping people achieve their homeownership goals.
Eileen’s impact extends well beyond real estate. She has been actively involved with the League of Women Voters, the Human Rights Commission, and the Melrose Task Force for Affordable Housing, working to promote civic engagement and housing accessibility.
She also helps stock and maintain the Little Food Pantry across from the firehouse and is a proud member of Rotary International. Additionally, she serves on the Cemetery Commission for the City of Melrose, helping oversee the care and preservation of Wyoming Cemetery.
One of her most meaningful volunteer efforts is at the Malden Warming Center, an organization that provides a safe place for those in need, offering warm meals and essential supplies. Eileen helps manage the clothing closet, ensuring guests receive warm, clean attire. She deeply values this work, recognizing that many are just one paycheck away from hardship, and she remains grateful for the blessings in her own life.
Eileen has already checked Alaska off her travel list and now has her sights set on visiting the Galápagos Islands and Italy. In her spare time, she researches her family history and is a dedicated supporter of the Melrose Symphony and the Polymnia Choral Society.
For Eileen, Melrose offers the perfect blend of small-town charm and urban convenience, with easy access to public transportation and proximity to the airport — a major perk for her adventurous spirit!
She also gives a special shoutouts to the Chamber of Commerce for organizing valuable community events that strengthen local businesses and connections and SDM is a gem offering free technology services.
