Marco's Salon

Franklin Square Fridays is a great opportunity to explore the wonderful small businesses in the Franklin Square area that make our city special.

On my way to the Square, I stopped at Molly’s Bookstore to pick up a few books for my daughter. This independent gem always delights — if they don’t have what you're looking for, they’ll happily order it. The store offers a thoughtful mix of books, gifts, and cozy charm.

But the main purpose of my visit today was a stop at Marco’s Salon. Located at 202 Green Street, just off the intersection of Franklin and Main, this storefront has what I consider the most beautiful flowers in Melrose. They never fail to make me smile when I drive by.

The salon itself is a small, full-service spot known for its personalized approach. Owned and operated by Marco, a seasoned stylist with over a decade of experience, the salon delivers both skill and service.

What stood out to me? Besides the amazing head massage during the wash, Marco didn’t try to fight my stubborn cowlicks — he worked with my hair instead of against it. The result? A flattering, easy-to-manage cut I love.

The space is clean, quiet, and welcoming—a perfect reflection of the care Marco puts into each appointment. If you're looking for a relaxed, professional vibe (with bonus flower power), Marco’s Salon is a must.
