Carianne Roche
Written and Photographed by Nancy Clover

If you’ve attended a community event in Melrose, chances are you’ve seen Carianne Roche — most likely with a camera in hand!
A longtime Melrose resident, Carianne has called this city home for over 20 years. Her husband, Paul, grew up here, and together they have two children — including a son who shares her passion for photography.
Though she works at Northeastern University, Carianne’s true love lies in photography. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology from UMass Amherst and has been a dedicated volunteer at Stoneham Zoo for years.

Combining her love for animals and photography, she founded Into the Wild Photography, capturing the beauty of nature through breathtaking images of wildlife, landscapes, and the great outdoors. Her stunning work can be found on her Facebook page and at local events, including the Farmers’ and Holiday Markets and Home for the Holidays.
Deeply involved in the community, Carianne generously lends her photography skills to local organizations. She has collaborated with the Melrose Police Department, Chamber of Commerce, and City of Melrose providing powerful visual storytelling for their initiatives.
Beyond event photography, Carianne creates an annual Melrose calendar and offers beautifully crafted prints, cards, coasters, and framed photos — each piece reflects her artistry and love for the city.
With her warm smile, creative spirit, and dedication to photography and community, Carianne Roche is truly someone worth knowing.
