Comella’s and Regina Gifts Close

comella's

Comella’s Italian restaurant, on Main Street, and Regina Gifts, on West Foster Street, two stores that have played a significant role in the Melrose community during their time here, have closed their doors.

For more than a decade, Comella’s has been a true staple in Melrose — not just for great food, but for the heart behind it. Jose and Karen have given so much to this community. From fundraisers to local events, if there was pizza involved, chances are Comella’s was quietly making it happen.

Their generosity hasn’t just fed people — it’s helped bring this community together. Their support of local efforts, including The Food Drive, has made a real and lasting impact.

Jose and Karen, you will be deeply missed. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Melrose. Wishing you and your family all the best in what comes next — you’ve certainly left your mark here.

regina

After 40 years in Melrose, Regina Gifts has closed its doors this winter. A true family-run shop, it wasn’t just a store — it was a place where generations found meaningful gifts for life’s most important moments.

From Christenings and Baptisms to First Communions, Confirmations, and Weddings, Regina Gifts helped mark milestones with faith-filled keepsakes — rosaries, medals, statues, frames, and so much more.

At the heart of it all was their incredible 93-year-old mother-in-law, whose dedication and presence made the shop so special. Due to recent health issues, the family made the difficult decision to close.

The Kleuber family will be moving their inventory to their Arlington location, but Regina Gifts will always be part of Melrose’s story.

Thank you for 40 years of tradition, care, and community. You will be missed!
