This Weekend: Summer Stroll, Fit Crawl, and Disability Pride

Last year's Summer Stroll
Melrose is preparing for a packed weekend to interrupt a quiet summer.
On Friday evening, the annual Summer Stroll will return to Main Street from 6 to 9pm. As in the past, pedestrians can walk up and down Main Street (which will be closed to vehicle traffic) and enjoy live music and special offerings from local businesses. Sit down at an outdoor table at one of your favorite local restaurants or grab some street food to enjoy as you walk. (And don't miss the smash burger pop-up from The Kitchen down by Hugo's Appliance!)
After the Stroll, stop in at the after-party hosted at the Knights of Columbus, featuring more live music, drinks at the bar, and an air-conditioned space.
And while you're enjoying yourself, you can give back to the community, too. The Food Drive is back with their annual Summer Stock food drive. Donations to food pantries are often slow in the summer, and the community can help ensure that no one goes hungry. Shop for pantry staples like cooking oil, shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, and cereal and drop them off at Buckalew's or The Beauty Cafe while you're on Main Street for the Summer Stroll.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, the Melrose Fit Crawl is back for the second year, providing participants with the opportunity to try out multiple fitness studios and have a great time working out together. Make sure to register ahead of time to secure your spot.
You can read our coverage of last year's Fit Crawl here.
Finally, on Saturday evening, don't miss the Disability Pride Celebration at Follow Your Art from 6 to 9pm. People of all abilities are welcome to this event celebrating disabled stories and featuring disco music, food, and lots of fun.
Don't miss all of these exciting events this weekend!
