Art should move you—whether through joy, reflection, or beauty. Local artist Diana Morgan, of Sophia Diana Creations, does just that with her expressive watercolor paintings. Best known for her custom house portraits, Diana captures the charm and character of homes across Melrose and New England, often weaving in blooming gardens and historic architecture to evoke a sense of peaceful nostalgia.
Remarkably, Diana didn’t grow up painting. Her journey began during the pandemic, sparked by recurring dreams of yellow flowers. Encouraged by her boyfriend, who gifted her a watercolor set, she began painting flowers and soon expanded to homes, landscapes, and more. In 2020, she left a marketing career to pursue painting full-time. Since then, she has completed over 400 works, from greeting cards to large-scale commissions. Her unique path and compelling work have even been featured on CBS News.
Diana’s art reflects her belief in seeing the beauty in the world and learning from it. She cherishes Melrose and seeks to preserve its essence, freezing moments in time through brush and color.
