Early Voting for State Election Begins On Saturday

vote

In-person early voting for the state election will begin on Saturday, October 17th at City Hall, and will follow the schedule found here. Residents may also vote by mail (the last day to request a mail-in ballot is October 27th) or vote in person on Tuesday, November 1st at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School from 7am to 8pm.

Voters will see an unusually lengthy ballot in this year's state election. (Sample ballot can be found here.) Eight of the thirteen elected positions on the ballot will be contested. And the ten ballot questions (nine binding and one non-binding) voters will see extend the ballot to a full three pages.

You can find retiring State Senator Jason Lewis' thoughts on the ballot questions (along with our more general discussion of the questions) here. We covered the races for state representative and state senator during the primary election, although those races are now uncontested in the general election.

Don't forget to make a plan to vote. See you at the polls, Melrose!
